As a young child, my travel experience was limited to exploring the four corners of my family’s 169-acre farm. It was not unusual to find me picking buckets of blackberries with my grandmother, or building forts in the woods, or exploring our barn, chasing after kittens. The smell of warm hay and the feel of alfalfa tickling the back of my legs is easy to remember.
As I grew older, my dreams of travel became reality as opportunities led me to cities and destinations that continued to spark my imagination. Creating these memorable moments, finding hidden gems, and researching unknown places along my journeys is all part of the excitement, and it’s something I want to share.
So, what exactly is Paris is Calling?
It’s a concept that was created during my Third Bloom—a time that allowed me to question what’s next and pursue a passion that has been pulling at me since I was young.
Paris is Calling is more than just a name. It’s a feeling that has simmered inside of me since I was a child. A calling to The City of Light that began when I first saw the PBS Masterpiece series on Chopin when I was eight or nine, was only further stoked during my 7th Grade French class with Mr. Rybicki, and finally burst into flames when I first visited Paris with my dear friend Carol Ethridge who owns and operates Best of France Travels. My passion for this magnificent city, coupled with a lifetime of creating experiences and curating events, has led me to my passion project—Paris is Calling.
For decades, my career has prepared me for this. I’ve been a publisher, event planner, marketer, brand builder, and traveler. My past experiences range from organizing 5ks to black-tie events to small intimate gatherings. I’ve spent several years developing the brand and the event schedule for a large Maryland winery.
And now, I’m taking this knowledge and using it to offer tailored shopping services, specially curated events, and limited travel opportunities to fellow lovers of everything Parisian. I’m excited for this journey and look forward to sharing it with you!
