If I ever thought I would be doing seven different holiday markets three years ago, I would have said, “NOPE, this is just a hobby.”
But with more, “sure I can do this,” rather than, “no I can’t,” I’ve jumped both feet in on the holiday market scene with my trusted vintage shopping and pop-up buddy, All The Farms Frederick.
We’re no strangers to doing projects together. Remember The 5k Cupcake Run? Yea, that was us. We literally baked and iced 900 cupcakes one year. No joke, there was a 5-gallon bucket of icing involved.
Our latest adventures have found us traveling where we usually find ourselves at some flea market, thrift shop, or vintage store. This all manifested itself several years ago. We decided that we could do vintage popup markets, maybe once a year, two at the most.
But now, we’re popping up at SEVEN holiday markets this season, starting the first week of November and running through Sunday, December 3. We’ll be at Chartreuse & Co, Give Rise Studios, and finally at Tenth Ward Distilling on December 3. I’ll probably need a cocktail by that 7th market, so lucky for me it will be handy.
We’ve been hitting our sources for great finds, doing lots of planning on what our spaces will look like, pulling out holiday trimming, and getting ready to wrap ourselves up in the holiday spirit.
When exactly does a hobby cross the line and become an actual small business? I’ll let you know in January.
